Is your wellbeing part of your leadership plan?

Is your wellbeing something that you intentionally nourish as part of your leadership plan, or the last thing on the list?

I’m curious to find out.

Quite often with my 121 coaching clients wellbeing is something that falls off the list.

Why is this so, when wellbeing is foundational in how we show up in work and life?

There are a quite a good number of contributing factors, which might include:

>> Our attention on the To Do list in front of us, which is overwhelming and growing
>> Focussing on the needs of other people - our teams, our families - and our own wellbeing falls short on priority
>> Where we’re simply not taught that looking after ourselves is how we stay well, grounded and connected with our self

In an ever increasing fast paced environment that we find ourselves in, we know that wellbeing is crucial- yet I frequently hear in the coaching space that we still don’t prioritise our own, or have an awareness of how to build wellbeing and resilience in our frantic world.

We're too busy on external factors, on others and culturally we’re taught not to. This is not sustainable.

If we don’t have the self respect and understanding to take care of our 'self', how are we going to take care of everything else? It’s no wonder the planet is in such a state.

So the narrative needs to change, the language needs to change and our permissions need to change.

This is where growth happens.

This is why ‘Wellbeing Foundations’ is one pillar of my ‘Zone of Brilliance™’ framework, embedded in a leadership programme and community that’s been developing behind the scenes (the online community is now live and if you'd like to be invited to look around just get in touch). Wellbeing foundations allows us to check in with ourselves in a compassionate way to see where the gaps are. Only with awareness we can see how we need to grow - coaching conversations, learning and self reflection are routes to access the awareness.

Creative Innovation and Professional Aspiration are the other two pillars to the ‘Zone of Brilliance™’ framework, giving a seriously powerful grounding from which to super-boost your own brilliance in an authentic and energised way - aligning you to your own purpose and power.

This is where the magic happens for leaders who want to make a difference, to make an impact in the world.
