Celebrate the returning light (and return to ourselves)

We’re in February! hope you are well and pleased to have made it past Imbolc - a Celtic festival celebrating the return of the light - did you celebrate?

January is always an interesting month in the UK isn’t it - split between the mammalian instinct to hibernate vs the Western world’s insatiable pressure to set goals and be hyper active.

The misalignment and pull gets me every year and to be honest with you I often feel a bit battered by February, as my friend kindly pointed out last week. And so I am diving deep back into my self care and compassion - the foundations of the inner work we must do in order to show up on the outside as the leaders and people we want to see.

Not unlike nature of course (those who are ‘wintering’ are nodding their heads).

Because this is the deep wisdom that we know in our bones, yet are distracted enough by ‘civilisation’ to keep our gaze away from our needs (and instead in our social feeds).

So a bit of recalibration is in order. What does that look like?

For me, recalibration looks like bigging up the self care, getting outside for walks and movement (each walk a mini reset in inself), nurturing the inner desires and dreams with journalling and drawing, and acknowledging the journey - where I’ve grown and what my needs are going forward.

I have been quietly nurturing my coaching offer for 2026, which I’m excited to share soon, building the online ‘Finding Brilliance’ community and introducing continued support through a 6 month programme (ask if curious!).

So February is all about reconnecting - with ourselves, with family and home, with peers and colleagues and for those we’ve neglected - as well as our professional aspirations of course (the third pillar of the Zone of Brilliance™ framework).

What does recalibration look like for you?

Here’s an invitation to pause for a moment this week and reconnect with your ‘self’ - tap into your inner knowing and wisdom (however dim it may feel sometimes) - and ask what does your heart need and long for right now. Give yourself the gift of time and quietness and see what arises.
