Capacity

Topics that frequently come into conversation with clients are managing time, managing projects, overwhelm, dealing with unexpected requests and getting down the task list (and emails of course).

This often drills down to an issue about capacity. We give ourselves so much expectation to complete the main work but are up to our eyeballs with the little things and in the end little gets achieved and what’s more the level of personal job satisfaction and fulfilment becomes zero.

Let’s talk about that thing capacity. What is is - well, it’s time of course but it is also you as a person and the resources you have inside to put to the job in hand. Its energy, motivation, emotional state, want, inner confidence, outer relationship. All these have in common that their source is from the person - the personal inner world and physical and mental state of being. They are reliant on inner work and healthy habits, so it is in our best interest to develop our selves and our personal lives to be able to top up our levels of capacity. So if you’ve had a bad night’s sleep because you were engrossed in a stressful dilemma at work, or you feel down because when you woke up you went straight on social media, then what’s going to happen to your ability to function, your capacity?

Personal and professional development are intertwined. You cannot develop professional excellence without personal work. If that resonates, then let’s have a conversation - contact me.
