Do you have a word for the year?

Quite a number of annual reflective practices include this idea. Used well it can help to focus on the ‘Why’ beyond our daily to-do list and bring together goals and KPIs under one intention and can have a deeper resonance. Having one overarching word can enhance the value of those goals by keeping meaning and purpose in clear sight.

Intentions likewise offer a rounder approach alongside goal setting - moving toward an idea, striving toward it, facing it, moving into it. So rather than only setting the harder-hitting goals and quantitive data-driven statistics, also consider a notion of what you are stepping into. It’s this continued work behind the front end that will motivate and push those goals past the winning line.

Who do you need to be and how do you need to show up to strive for those goals?
