About Kate
For many years I have found that listening and helping people get to a place of clarity and happiness brought enormous satisfaction. I’m what you would call a happiness-driven soul. I like to think it’s something to do with my creative genes, or my curiosity about human behaviour and constant thirst for knowledge.
In 2004 I founded the Cumbria Network, a regional professional development network of practitioners in the creative industries. Since it began, I nurtured the professional skills of artists and creatives to help them achieve their goals, and was invited to 11 Downing St to input on the nation’s creative industries with the Culture Secretary Tessa Jowell. I went on to advise arts employers with [a-n] The Artist’s Information Company, supporting a membership of 22,000 creatives online. Working for Voluntary Action Cumbria and the Rural Women’s Network in 2007 led to me gaining sFedi business advising qualifications - and this combined with the creative innovation background and the happiness-curiosity is what directed me to coaching work.
Qualifications
I am an ACC Accredited Coach with the ICF (International Coaching Federation) - achieving the highest industry standards and maintaining professional development I take very seriously. I also hold an MA in Arts Management and a BA in Graphics and Sculpture.
My coaching practice draws on resources such as DISC profiling, Neuroscience, Somatics, Positive Psychology, Emotional Intelligence, Transactional Analysis, NLP, and is informed by creative problem solving, visual tools, spiritual wellbeing and metaphor.

WHY?
Because there’s more to life on this planet than TAKING. We are ALL RESPONSIBLE for giving something back and putting in. Coaching my clients is my way to help bring positive action and a tiny step towards making the world a better place than it is in right now.

Because I get fulfilment and gratitude from helping people – when I see a client’s face light up in a moment of clarity, or see the potential they had not before imagined possible. I enjoy the process, the connection and working through hurdles and blockages.
